This is a backstage snap I took at the FIT Future of Fashion show I styled last week. I loved this look and the gorgeous and sweet model Nykhor wore it well. I styled it with this stunning cuff from Bing Bang by Anna Sheffield.
This picture torments me because shortly after this shot was taken, the jewelry was packed by the dressers but the bracelet was swiped from my accessories table. (Please note after much sleuthing, I am 100% positive no one working on the job swiped it.) This is one of a handful of times this ever happened to me and let me tell you, you feel sick. It’s a terrible feeling to have things like this happen on your watch. There are so many people in and out that it is impossible to keep eyes over everyone and everything happening.
It’s not all glamour, champagne and stilettos behind the scenes, I tell ya.
Speaking of robbers, in a random coincidence, later that week I was at an art gallery where I watched an older, distinguished gentleman bend down and steal a piece of an Anish Kaapor sculpture and wrap it in a scarf. I couldn’t believe my eyes and after just getting burned by a thief I was not going to let it happen again! I ran to the gallerist and warned him. He approached the man but was too late, he had already done a switch off and given it to the woman he was with and she walked out as he told the gallerist, “I have no idea what you are talking about”. Ugh. Foiled again.
That was hands down one of the craziest things I have ever witnessed in Nyc. Watch your backs and your stuff, people!
