Creatures of Comfort
Stylist Picks: Want to know what to wear on days you need to feel comfortable but look completely chic? Look no further, creaturesofcomfort has you covered.
Seriously though, I love the muted sherbet palette paired with earth tones in washed silk. The mixing of plaids and the robins egg blue appeal to my inner mad fifties housewife that drinks gin and tonics at 5pm and cooks pot roasts.
Stylist Picks: This season designer Nicky Zimmermann was influenced by a photo of her parents in the 50’s and to me it feels as if it is the perfect balance of vintage male and female styling. Zimmermann smudges the gender lines with baggy menswear trousers paired with sexy off-the-shoulder sweaters. The soft, feminine dresses and blouses are given a tough edge with the motorcycle leather lacing details.
Stylist Picks: Coats! You can sense a fifties rocker bubbling under the surface of these box cut and over sized printed motorcycle jackets. The mohair duster is perfectly modern in such a vintage shade of pale blue. The sweetness of the bows on the necks and ankles give it the right balance of cheeky bad girl vibes.
Stylist Picks: It’s pretty clear at OWIW that my favorite color combo is orange and pink so the slashes of color at altuzarra had me over the rainbow. From the subtle sheath dresses and double faced coats to the intricately woven pieces and the boldly color blocked fur, it was an exciting yet refined collection.
Stylist Picks: Blurred visions of loveliness at the petersom show. A graphic floral print was blurred and it gives me the flash back feeling of laying in the back seat of car when I was kid and the trees and houses would be a swipe of color zooming by. The balance of grey, black and orange are a fresh mix for fall.
