Once When I Was

I am getting used to this sunshine life. It’s the middle of November and I am wearing just a silk blouse, with my sleeves rolled up. Yeah, it’s nice. The roses in the courtyard don’t quit and the super-tall palm trees make me think of Muppets. Yes, always a kid at heart. Off to another lunch meeting, the blouse is on trend and a little bit punk-rock with the studded shoulders. Wide leg jeans are now easy to get away with since I am always wearing heels because driving is easy and I am not trudging through the subways anymore. I am getting used this. Slowly the homesickness fades.

It was just snowing in NY and I feel guilty writing this but it’s about to be the weekend and since I have moved to LA I have not had a proper beach day yet. Sure, I have visited the beach when I’ve been near it. But there has not been a bikini-clad, beach towel and stack of magazines day. Alas, I am pretty sure this weekend it won’t happen. We are still in deep with getting the apartment in order.

I took a visit to see the new styles coming out in the Spring from O’neill and these four were my favorites. I look forward to the time when my life feels settled in and beach days are not just fantasies but regular life. I wasn’t planning on getting all patriotic with my look today but if it reminds someone to vote subliminally, well, then, that is a good thing. I am nervous today. I think Obama needs the next 4 years to really get all his plans into effect. CHANGE can happen, but not overnight.  

Anyhoo, onto the fashion… I am wearing a Rebecca Minkoff tee-shirt under the striped sweater c/o SuperDry. My favorite boyfriend jeans are c/o AGAVE Denim and the sweet yellow sandals c/o Sole Society. Riding my bike means I need a back pack and this one is c/o Nixon. My accessories are KBL sunnies, vintage bling and belt, and Marc by Marc Jacobs pear and as usual, my bird ring from Echo of the Dreamer.

Flower Power!  My new favorite floral from @MINKPINK_TWEET but alas I will have to wait til the end of summer to get my grubby paws on this amazing printed dress.  But for now we can fall into a shopping wormhole with all these summer lovin’ options @ASOS.
