Once When I Was just a wee one I watched a lot Magnum PI with my Dad. He also had a mustache and wore Hawaiian shirts. I truly believe this is the main reason I have such an affinity towards a tropical print. Coupled with the fact that my baby years were spent on Venice Beach, CA and my tween to teens were on Hollywood Beach, FL; I know my way around a palm tree and a hibiscus flower.
Here I am wearing a vintage Gloria Vanderbilt tropical button down scored at a South Florida Goodwill. The awesome chambray circle skirt is c/o OBEY Clothing and my killer wedges are c/o 80%20 shoes.
I got the chance to visit my pals @OBEYGiant last week. Of course there was a ton of cool art everywhere but naturally I was drawn to the jewelry. I channeled a 50’s vibe with this AG Jeans striped tee and chambray circle skirt from OBEY Clothing. The best element are these Low End Theory tights I found at Bloomie’s that I can’t recall the brand and don’t have a tag inside. Sorry! But don’t they remind you of Tribe Called Quest’s seminal album Low End Theory’s cover art? I love them so much. If only I could run into Q-tip while wearing them. Sigh.
Vintage headscarf is Avon, yes, as in door-to-door make up. The tag says Sweet Honesty. Weird, huh? The Echo of the Dreamer bird ring which is getting a lot of comments lately from readers of The Hunger Games. Not sure why, I gotta read those books. Kept it simple with my J Shoes booties that are so comfortable I will miss them once boot season is fully over.

Just another day at the office and I am going in grandma style. Turbaned vintage Gucci scarf in my hair with a vintage blouse and a cardigan over that. Paired with my OBEY pale denim and new very wearable ankle booties c/o Aldo and my favorite satchel bag c/o Fossil.
Forever fringe. This is how I know I am a child of hippies. I cannot say no to fringe. It may be a problem but right now I have it under control with this fringe motorcycle jacket I picked up at the Forever 21 preview last week. I am so in love. Get ready for a few more posts with this jacket before it gets too cold to wear until spring.

Day in the life: Tate Modern SUMMER Edition
This past summer I got to check out the Tate Modern in London. Here are a few snaps from that day. I was wearing my Line + Dot silk tee with jeans c/o OBEY Clothing and my summer stand by for sneakers, Keds. (I am still so obsessed with the OBEY jeans, I am wearing them right now, even in Fall!)

Thank god, or actually OBEY Clothing for easy summer dresses. With pockets and studs! All black again, but paired it with a wrist full of arm candy from Shashi, Bliss Lau & vintage. Pom pom flats by Melissa. Leopard scarf is a new vintage score thanks to dear Aunt Jeanette.

Maxi Skirt, Mini Girl: San Sebastian Edition
A major trend that I love right now is the maxi skirt. Being a mini size person the maxi doesn’t always work. It requires the perfect balance between top and bottom to pull it off without looking like you are dressing up in your normal sized friend’s clothes. It was our first night in Spain and I was dying to wear this Rebecca Minkoff maxi skirt. It felt so feminine and silky with a fantastic swishy effect. I layered it with a tie-dye tank c/o OBEY Clothing and a slouchy tee c/o Line + Dot and my suede MIA sandals. We went out and ate pintxos and drank Txakolí every night. The best place we found was A Fuego Negro.
Oh man, was I jet-lagged at that point.

1 Suitcase, 2 weeks, countless outfits
this tiny suitcase held 2 weeks of outfits that got me from the beach of San Sebastian, Spain to the countryside of Oxford and then to a wedding in London. Notice my ever present Aviator Nation sweatshirt.
