This is my first season in as long as I can remember not attending Men’s Market Week in NYC.  I love seeing all my menswear friends and the new collections at Project NY, (capsule) and MRket.

Since I have #menswear on my brain here is a behind-the-scenes look from the shoot I styled with the handsome actor Jesse Johnson. Yes, son of that other good-looking Johnson.

Here he is wearing a classic motorcycle jacket and knit sweater from Cockpit USA worn with Docker’s Alpha Khakis and two-tone suede Generic Man brogues.

It’s actually a vintage Vivienne Westwood blouse. I was the costume designer for the film Hated.

Once When I Was just a wee one I watched a lot Magnum PI with my Dad. He also had a mustache and wore Hawaiian shirts. I truly believe this is the main reason I have such an affinity towards a tropical print. Coupled with the fact that my baby years were spent on Venice Beach, CA and my tween to teens were on Hollywood Beach, FL; I know my way around a palm tree and a hibiscus flower.

Here I am wearing a vintage Gloria Vanderbilt tropical button down scored at a South Florida Goodwill. The awesome chambray circle skirt is c/o OBEY Clothing and my killer wedges are c/o 80%20 shoes.

The Azore gladiator sandal from the Koolaburra look book I styled.

This style is a multi-strap zip-back shape crafted in premium leather. Available in Spring it comes in Black, Gold, Silver and Stone, this sandal offers a sleek and sexy take on the ever-present gladiator trend seen on the Spring 13 runways.

I styled the gorgeous and lovely @SherylCrow for @Bloomingdales Pink Book this summer. The talented @WattsUpPhoto (Ben Watts) shot it at @MilkStudios in NYC.

Once When I Was styling this summer I had the pleasure to work with Sheryl Crow on the Bloomingdale’s Pink Book that was shot by Ben Watts at Milk Studios.

It’s weird, I don’t get shy around musicians at all but get me near photographers I admire and I tend to be a bit quiet and reserved. It was so easy to be comfortable working with Sheryl; she was gracious, down to earth and all around lovely. Ben had a crew of super cute and friendly assistants and he had the best energy on set but I never let him know how I was so very excited to work with him. (Now I am saying it, at the comfort of my keyboard!)

It was a busy summer of back to back shoots prior to moving out to LA and this was a highlight for sure.
