For as long as I can remember my Nana Kitty, a Brit by way of Russia, has uttered the Yiddish phrase “kennahara,” roughly translated to “No Evil Eyes On You,” while tapping my head. Spanning from cultures as diverse as Ancient Greece, Sanskrit and Japan, this famed amulet represents the sentiment of blocking the stink-eye. And now it turns out one of the oldest talisman to ever be adorned is in vogue again. Here are some stylish ways to watch your back and ward off negativity.
Fashion Week is hectic and exhausting—even if your front-row seat is your Tumblr dashboard. But it’s also fun, and whenever it’s over, we feel a sense of, “Well, what now?” So, to keep you (and us) entertained throughout the year, we compiled a list (alphabetized, NBD) of fashion…

I can feel it. Spring is in the air. Not the gorgeous sunny Spring but the kind of not totally freezing on the partial sunny side of the street Spring. That’s good enough for me right now.

B & went for a walk in the neighborhood, stopped at the fountain shop Farmacy, where I inhaled a mint chocolate chip shake and there is a photo of it but this post is about fashion not food. Wandered around a bit and admired the signage on the police station and had some laughs before the sun gave up and the chill won over. My vintage lambswool coat is from my Great-Aunt Jeanette by way of my Mom. It is beautiful and has such a wonderful neckline. The sweetest part is that Jeanette’s name is embroidered in side.

Not sure if you can tell on this blog but there are a few things I can’t get enough of: color, pattern & dots. Oh yeah, and vintage. Got all this covered in spades this day. The vintage 80’s romper is from the cash + carry from (capsule) a couple seasons ago. Tights are probably from H+M. The booties are my new favorites c/o Puma. I test-drove them and discovered I can wear them all day, ride my bike and go dancing for hours in them without any soreness. They live up to their name: Urban Mobility Motus. Amaze. Vintage bag, scarf, belt. The jewelry is a hodgepodge: Silver bracelet came from the extraordinary Nana Kitty, the animal cuffs are from Urban Outfitters, the blue ring is DanniJo and the red ring is Alexis Bittar. I got the owl ring in a little shop in St. Petersburg, FL. The sunnies are Alexander McQueen.
