Happy Friday! Get ready for the weekend. Make the summer last!
“Aloha Summer” is Bing Bang’s ode to the warm weather wanderlust inspired by this prized - and often fleeting - season.
A tender hello and goodbye is mapped out in an east-meets-west road trip set to the energy laden track ’Cinders’ by Matt & Kim.
From Southern California’s wind farms to wildflower fields in Cape Cod, Calley & Colin take Bing Bang’s mini skulls, tattoo rings and diamond drops along for a ride.
Weaving clips from Santa Cruz to Coachella with a meander along the Eastern seaboard, the adventure reads like a dynamic dreamscape of serene lakes, sparkler-lit nights, resounding waves and the glow of bonfires just warm enough to remind us the autumn is fast approaching… With a hello + farewell, Aloha Summer.
Check out what STYLE.COM & REFINERY29 have to say about it!

Oh my gosh, how cute are the girls I know? First off, Dear Ms SK has new maga-blog going on called By Way of Brooklyn and secondly, she nabbed the So Super Busy So Super Cute SoSuperSam.
Love that I get to say I knew them when.

Once When I Was Wednesdays.
You may have heard me mention I am moving to LA. I am going through a lot of emotions, especially when I start tallying up all my beloved people, places and things. This post is about my dear friend Heart. She is an amazing hairstylist but an even more amazing person.
Let me start by saying, I am a Taurus. For those of you who don’t know or believe in that sort of thing, I am very loyal. When I was growing up in South Florida I found my hair stylist and stuck with her through my teens into my twenties and then I came up here and in that first year resorted to those free haircuts ads you see in the Village Voice and Time Out.
After living in the city for at least 4 years and bouncing around from stylist to stylist, doing my own color, lots of pink Manic Panic and getting cuts on random photo shoots I finally met Heart on set one day with a rock band whose name I can’t remember anymore. We hit it off immediately and I was invited to scheduled an appointment to visit her private salon. That’s right, private. No walk ins, no listed number; you must be invited or referred.
It turned out we had a mutual best friend and the rest in history. Over 10 years have gone by hair colors, cuts, group hair parties with delivery dinner and wine plus BBQs and New Years Eve parties. She is a talent and an artist, not just with hair. One year she learned how to make stained glass, just because! Her hands have graced the scalps of Diamanda Galas (look her up!) to Trent Reznor to Hayley of Paramore to Tony Bennett. She has a 3 legged dog and a 3 legged cat! It’s a coincidence, I swear! Over the years I would meet someone and complement on their hair and they would whisper, “My friend Heart does it!”. It is always “My Friend Heart”. Inevitably, we then become friends just by Heart association. With a name like Heart you know she has a lot of love to spread.
All I can say is Thank God I will be in Nyc every six months for NYFW so I can make my pilgrimage to that basement in Chelsea for a piece of Heart.

The other day I was being interviewed (more on that later!) and one of the questions was who’s closet would you raid. Immediately, Florence Welch and that wild McQueen dress at the MET Gala popped into my head and I blurted out “Florence!”.
While I’m at it I would cop her hair color and voice too. #stylebiting

B, is that you?
News is Beyonce has her own tumblr. Not sure if she is posting or her people are but whateves, who doesn’t want to look at Solange & B on holiday or J & B arm in arm?
Yesterday I died and went to shoe heaven when I got to visit the super chic Ce Ce Chin’s studio for her street savvy collection 80%20. You can see my love of her rocker styles here and a boho vibe here from style posts last year.
She was kind enough to let me choose a few styles. It was not easy. But after much hemming and hawing I settled on two styles for Spring (or a holiday this winter!) and a sick pair of ikat wedge booties. As I was trying on multitudes of styles I kept exclaiming, “these are sooo comfortable!”. Any true city girl knows that no matter how sexy and cool the shoes are they need to be wearable. Not all of us are hailing taxis to and fro. Nope, it’s called the subway, and we ride it.
