Happy Birthday Andy Warhol

Happy Yves Saint Laurent birthday day!

It’s mine! And I still love cake.
Thank you to all my amazing friends and family for making this a wonderful weekend and celebrating with me.
JenniLee, my Fashion Director, and Kaity Velez, my Editor in Chief.
Man do I love these ladies. For everything they’ve taught me through words and action and through friendship.
Best girls! Thank you lovely ladies for coming out.
JenniLee and her man Barnett are moving to California at the end of the summer.
Tonight not only did we celebrate her birthday, but also their going away.
I never would’ve worked at a magazine, met Kaity, started writing, even be in any of the below photos had JL not taken a chance on a terrible fashion assistant for a day shoot where I couldn’t have been less helpful that one fall day in 2008.
It’s crazy how things work out isn’t it? Crazier when things change.
I’ll miss you JL and am grateful for all of your love and advice and stories and listening ear. I thank God for you and will be praying for you!
Happy Going Birthdaway!
I’ll miss you too! Thank you for the most amazing hand made cards. I’ll see you all summer. I love you, Skim.

Nana reflects on this photo of her with my dad and uncle. She is in her 20’s here and they are probably living in the city on east 55th street or upstate in Katonah. She moved from London with my grandfather, uncle and father in the Forties to escape the war.

No one is more inspiring to me than this woman. My Nana (Grandmother) Kitty Lee. Lucky for me she doesn’t have a computer or understand the internet, hell, when I call she rushes me off the phone because of long distance charges but that’s besides the point. The point is she would kill me if she knew I was going to post photos of her all day in honor of her amazing and beautiful 90 years on this planet.
Get ready, it’s Nana Kitty day over at OWIW.
This one looks like it is a passport photo and it must be late 60’s / early 70’s by the look of that collar. But hello, red polka dots! This has been Kitty’s hair style since she was a teenager.
