Every season New York’s Gagosian Gallery is taken over by Kate and Laura Mulleavy of Rodarte and transformed into a new and alien landscape by their long term collaborator, Alexandre De Betak. From conjuring up a charred apocalyptic wasteland befitting a dark tale of a battle-scarred woman transfiguring into a Californian condor to a dreamy candlelit mise-en-scene for the Mulleavy’s treatise on Mexican workers, this is one creative partnership that has yielded frequently astonishing results. See for yourself in this exclusive film highlighting their collaboration over the years and check our Joy of Sets feature for thoughts from Laura, Kate and De Betak. The Mulleavy’s new collection will be shown in the Big Apple on Tuesday, and Dazed Digital will be reporting.

Looking over the FW12 Nina Ricci photos and I was of course dying over the collection but this one look:

Which in turn makes me think of Vivienne Westwood’s SEX sweaters.
I love all these designer’s collections but sometimes it is nice to have a bit of a history lesson.
