OnceWhenIWore #NYFW Edition.
Getting ready for a day of being back in the cold for the unofficial first day of fashion week.

Head to toe shout outs: hat c/o Steven Alan, Uniqlo undershirt, chainmail knit c/o Allsaints, furry vest c/o Fur Elise, jeans c/o Bleulab and J Shoes Ranch boots.

I am getting used to this sunshine life. It’s the middle of November and I am wearing just a silk blouse, with my sleeves rolled up. Yeah, it’s nice. The roses in the courtyard don’t quit and the super-tall palm trees make me think of Muppets. Yes, always a kid at heart. Off to another lunch meeting, the blouse is on trend and a little bit punk-rock with the studded shoulders. Wide leg jeans are now easy to get away with since I am always wearing heels because driving is easy and I am not trudging through the subways anymore. I am getting used this. Slowly the homesickness fades.

You can’t tell but I have major platforms on. Get height.

It is still so weird to me that it is not cold out. But me being me, I am always cold and need a little cover up. I threw on this silk beaded top c/o Elizabeth and James over an amazing printed AllSaints draped top that I got at a sample sale a few seasons back. I am so in love with the super soft and faded pastel pink of the jeans c/o Robin’s Jeans. How is it that these clogs c/o Bed|Stu go with everything?

Want it?  I can be yours. Or a variation..

Off to meetings today, not really channeling inspiration from anywhere specific. Just wearing some of my favorite go-to pieces.

The tie blouse is about 10 years old H+M. Can you believe it has lasted that long?! The stories this top could tell.  (Trick is not to wash it after every wear, and wash in the delicate cycle.) Think about it, you don’t wash your jeans every time you wear them? I don’t wash my hair in every shower I take. Ok, maybe it’s just me. It’s not like I am rolling in a pile of mud.

I like to call this my faux-Chanel jacket. Yes, I know, you know it isn’t Chanel. I am not foolin’ anyone. By anyone, I mean fashion folks. It’s from Zara and I can’t find it for you on the interwebs.

These are my 80’s throwback floral jeans c/o Citizens of Humanity. I love them because the remind me of high school. Yeah, I am emotionally stunted.

Here are the Magnet clogs c/o Bed:Stu that got me into wearing clogs. I never met a clog I liked until I met the Magnet. Is it because I now live in LA and I am getting back to my hippie roots? I don’t know. Is it because the word clog is such an unappealing word? Could be.

I’m a sucker for a trend, so thank you MeChar for the awesome Brigid pouch.

Going out tonight, right?  Get inspired with the serious sparkle from @BlankJeans that I viewed @Bollare #fw12 preview.  So Glam!

Like I said, this is inspiration only as these won’t be out til fall.  In the meantime click here for an awesome pink striped skinny that reminds me of fruit striped gum or these vintage hi-rise flares for a 70’s Ali MacGraw vibe.

When I popped by to see the FW collections of @CtznsOfHumanity and @GoldsignJeans I was pleased to see plenty of printed denim.

The stand-outs for me were the GoldSign metallic floral roses and the Citizens of Humanity paisley printed corduroys and jeans.  I was also drawn to the wild lace flares from GoldSign.  I think they would be so fun to style with an over-sized but cropped light weight knit top and platform wedges.  They scream music festival to me.  If that’s too much for you then you can always go with a pair of gold leather shorts to tone it down.

Check out Citizens of Humanity’s spring collections here.  You can pick up the colorful printed floral jeans now.
