I finally got around to going through my Tel Aviv images. You will see everything in the next few days. All of these pics were taken by the sweet Natalie Off Duty. We pretty much ran all over Tel Aviv in three fun fashion packed days with Poppy & Gabby.
L to R: Line + Dot cut off tee with Miss Sixty skirt and Melissa flats with Cheap Monday Sunnies. Anglomania by Vivienne Westwood tunic with Alexander Wang cape and United Nude booties and Fossil bag. Skirt worn as a dress by Ishtar. Allsaints ikat print dress with Forever 21 jacket and KBL sunglasses.
One of the highlights of Tel Aviv fashion week was going to the designer Ishtar’s studio. Tamar Primak is a Jerusalem born designer who studied & designed in London & Berlin before setting up shop in Tel Aviv. One of the nicest things about Tel Aviv is that it reminded me a bit of Venice Beach in California. After spending a few hours talking about design and playing dress up; my beautiful new friend Natalie & I wandered through the windy streets of Tamar’s studio / home back to the beach.
Above are a smattering of pics, below is my commentary.
Top left: Runway image. The collection was part of a 3 emerging designer shows. Ishtar set itself from the pack with a very slow and deliberate pace and the models bare feet looked as if they had been dipped in white powder. With the video of lovers in the desert and the mystical music it had a dream like quality.
3rd pic: Tamar was sweet enough to set Natalie & myself in the right direction back to our hotel. Here she is wearing one of her designs. Love the back detail.
4 + 6: Detail shots of her design studio.
7 + 8: Here is Tamar with her lovely associate Michal wearing the jeans and jacket from the collection. That detail shot is the skirt version in that fabric.
I got to try on a few pieces from the new collection. This pretty handkerchief hem frock is actually a skirt! See it on the runway in the images in the last row. What a difference long legs make.
The pictures of me were taken by Michael Fisch who was shooting that day at the studio. He’s on tumblr too! There were people in and out that day at her studio, it felt very much like a fashion and art community. As we were leaving we met the team from Dreed*Tea which is a fashion website based out of Tel Aviv. They have great coverage from all the shows that week.
If you want to shop Ishtar you can do so on Etsy!
