Off to meetings today, not really channeling inspiration from anywhere specific. Just wearing some of my favorite go-to pieces.

The tie blouse is about 10 years old H+M. Can you believe it has lasted that long?! The stories this top could tell.  (Trick is not to wash it after every wear, and wash in the delicate cycle.) Think about it, you don’t wash your jeans every time you wear them? I don’t wash my hair in every shower I take. Ok, maybe it’s just me. It’s not like I am rolling in a pile of mud.

I like to call this my faux-Chanel jacket. Yes, I know, you know it isn’t Chanel. I am not foolin’ anyone. By anyone, I mean fashion folks. It’s from Zara and I can’t find it for you on the interwebs.

These are my 80’s throwback floral jeans c/o Citizens of Humanity. I love them because the remind me of high school. Yeah, I am emotionally stunted.

Here are the Magnet clogs c/o Bed:Stu that got me into wearing clogs. I never met a clog I liked until I met the Magnet. Is it because I now live in LA and I am getting back to my hippie roots? I don’t know. Is it because the word clog is such an unappealing word? Could be.

I’m a sucker for a trend, so thank you MeChar for the awesome Brigid pouch.

Peter Som SS ‘13

My top picks.

A fresh collection of floral prints with a dash of a bad-girl leopard and tomboy edge to balance out the sweetness. I especially love the the mesh over the eyes and the color dipped hair.

Feeling romantic? @CandelaNYC Spring collection has prairie chic in full bloom. Chiffon, fringe and ruffles are all easy to rock when it looks so effortless.

Here are a few snaps of my favorite looks that I took at NYFW.

Salvatore Ferragamo SS12
Karlie Kloss

I know all the mags are showing fall but it is so hot in LA that all I can think of is florals and bare shoulders.

Rodarte SS12
Lindsay Wixson

Christopher Kane SS12
Karolina Waz

Inspired by florals.

80’s Flower Power Prints

To this day, every time I visit Nana she tells me how blessed she is to live in such a beautiful place as Hollywood, Florida.  I think this stems from her growing up in London in times of war.  To end up in endless sunshine must be the greatest outcome.  I grew up learning to swim in her pool and eating cucumber sandwiches.  This romper sums up that time perfectly; tan arms and short shorts and that perfect smile.

Speaking of prints! I peeped this lovely floral @james_coviello #fashion (Taken with instagram)

@TimoWeiland considers the men who wear his collection to be witty and daring.  As men should be.  Next time try pairing a subtle floral printed shirt with tuxedo trousers.  It can be worn like it’s no big deal with some beat up brogues or dressed up with a tie and jacket.  This is a peek into FW12 but you can view the current collection here.

When I popped by to see the FW collections of @CtznsOfHumanity and @GoldsignJeans I was pleased to see plenty of printed denim.

The stand-outs for me were the GoldSign metallic floral roses and the Citizens of Humanity paisley printed corduroys and jeans.  I was also drawn to the wild lace flares from GoldSign.  I think they would be so fun to style with an over-sized but cropped light weight knit top and platform wedges.  They scream music festival to me.  If that’s too much for you then you can always go with a pair of gold leather shorts to tone it down.

Check out Citizens of Humanity’s spring collections here.  You can pick up the colorful printed floral jeans now.

For GoldSign’s super soft and perfect fits by the denim master Adriano Goldschmied go to Shopbop.
