Are they rocks? Is it wood?  Some sort of gemstones?  I don’t know! What I do know is that I can’t stop thinking about these rings I tried on by Lydia Marcos during LA market week.

Once When I Was just a little girl I was way into magic and witches. Growing up I loved any characters that could cast spells from Fantasia to the Brothers Grimm, I ate it up. On top of all the fairy tales and cartoons I was raised in a house that always had music blasting and from an early age I was mesmerized by Stevie Nicks. I definitely feel like I am returning to my fashion roots in LA. I find myself wearing things I have had in my closet for ages in a much more romantic way.

I have on a lot of thrift store scores in this look. But if you click my links it leads you to a similar item.
Sequin cardigan.
Fringed tee shirt.
Chiffon skirt.
Ash booties.
Gorgeous necklaces c/o Alexis Bittar and Species by the Thousands.

What is wrong with me?! I can’t get enough jewelry. Every time I visit a showroom there is another amazing jewelry collection I instantly want to wear. I came across JNB (Jaqueline Nicole Brown) and was charmed by the the raw druzys, vintage vibes and sweet elephants.

The styles show above are coming out in the spring but here is the link to shop her current collection which has lots of druzy rings and earrings and enough crystal beaded bracelets you will be up to your elbows before you know it.

And she is a girl after my heart with this rad tumblr.

I got the chance to visit my pals @OBEYGiant last week. Of course there was a ton of cool art everywhere but naturally I was drawn to the jewelry. Did you know OBEY Clothing has edgy and bohemian styles to channel your inner Stevie Nicks?  No, well, now you do. That pyramid ring is even on sale right now.

Visited the showroom of The Shiny Squirrel last week and tried on some killer new pieces! @NettieKentJewel has delicate #tribal vibes (top + bottom L), statement #necklace from @wxyzjewelry by @laura_wass and #crystals for hoops and rings from @TOUJOURSTOI @toujourstoi_familyaffairs (Taken with Instagram at the shiny squirrel)

Chanel FW ‘12: Runway Recap

Beam me up Scotty, uh, I mean Karl. Someone has clearly been watching 80’s era Superman movies and General Hospital’s Ice Princess story line with Elizabeth Taylor. I think that this season’s collection was overwrought with the outer space, inter-galactic theme but there was still plenty to get excited about. As usual, the bags and shoes are outta this world. My favorite looks are above.

Sticking with an 80’s vibe, I like all the Cosby sweaters; it’s as if Lisa Bonet rifled through Bill’s closet for a funky art school teacher look.

I tend to prefer the unfussy skirt suits that can be worn with pants as an added bonus. It will be interesting to see if regular women will want to bulk up their bottoms by adding cropped trousers to their skirts. Still, I am very fond of this series of simple layered skirt silhouettes paired with or without the pants.

The coats with skinny trousers and this deconstructed coat and blazer with the bright orange panels were stand outs for me. I found it odd that these two pieces were the only ones that had this effect. I would have traded the crazy diamond applique series for more of this.

Please, let us pause for a minute to say how amazing the plate collars are!

Another set of stands-out are the strong shoulders. I think the coat and the dress above are remarkable for the structure and the feathery layers. The tuxedo trousers with the chiffon fringe are so fresh.

The jewelry and accessories are fantastic but I can’t be the only one who was thinking that a lot of the crystal embedded cuffs reminded me of Pamela Love. Am I right?

Collars are still going strong into FW12.  Here is an open choker by the talented Jill Martinelli and Sabine Lu Guyader of @LadyGreyJewelry that I discovered @CapsuleShow.  I would love to pair this with a long lariat necklace to have a nice layering effect.

The jewelry encompasses the design duo’s love of science and nature with geometric rings and bangles to crystal + geodes in pendants, earrings and cuffs.  The collection has a dark and romantic edginess that feels completely modern.
